New March Tour - MUMFORD & SONS!!

While the rest of the UK is slowly crawling out of their thermal undies after the recent cold snap, Mumford & Sons are showing the world down under what they’re made of while playing sold out festivals across Australia. If you’ve managed to get your thawing hands on any of the sold out tickets for their upcoming shows across the US, Canada, Ireland or the UK then you’re in for a real treat!

Mumford & Sons are an English folk rock band and a very talented bunch of four, Marcus Mumford, Country Winston, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane. By their own admission they have always shared a common purpose: to make music that matters, without taking themselves too seriously. Since forming in December 2007 they have endeavored to create a sound that is unique to them and it seems they haven’t looked back since.

2008 saw them touring extensively around the UK with a quick pit stop at Glastonbury en-route to a sell out London gig which only cemented rave reviews from an already steady gathering (there’s always one act I end up kicking myself that I can’t make at Glasto… Mumford and Sons were my 2008 kick in the rear).

In 2009 Mumford and Sons wound up on the BBC Sound of 2009 Poll shortlist. Match that with their London ICA show selling out in 24 hours, and the October release of their debut album “Sigh No More” and you have a band who continue to go from strength to strength with each sold out venue they play. If you haven’t managed to score yourself a ticket then head over to their myspace page http://www.myspace.com/mumfordandsons to have a listen and keep checking their website http://www.mumfordandsons.com/ for updates on where they’re at next. Fingers crossed they make a pit stop at Glastonbury this year so I don’t have to endure another year of kicking myself!!!

Happy listening

Vote For Your Favourite Artist & Win a Holiday!

Three of Traffic’s favourite Artists have been nominated for MTV’s

MTV have picked out who they think are the ten brightest stars in the 2010 music calendar, and it is up to the public who wins the Ultimate Prize…
You already know that over here at Traffic we are huge fans of Ellie Goulding and Delphic, both of whom we have been championing since last year… but someone we haven’t talked about yet is Drums…
Not to be put of by the fact that NME featured them on the front cover, and BBC named them as one of the sounds of 2010.. we actually like them because they are good! They bought out the great summer song ‘Lets Go Surfing’ and lets be honest, today is apperently the most miserable day of the year. Let me guess you have already ditched the new year diet, just realised how much you spent at Christmas, fell over in a puddle on the way to college, and probably got dumped by text by your boyfriend. Well let this video put a smile back on your face

ALSO to make things even more interesting someone will win tickets to all of the MTV gigs, with Three nights stay in rock ‘n’ roll hotel ‘The K West’ and a recording studio experience! So whats stopping you, get voting!

Ellie Goulding is TOP CHOICE on BBC's "Sounds of 2010"

To say 2009 has been a whirlwind year for the solo singer songwriter Ellie Goulding would be a massive understatement. If this girl can accomplish this much in 3 months and create such a huge buzz without a body of work behind her then the next 12 is set to be mind blowing.

Ready, set, GO…The Brit Award winner signed to Polydor Records in September 2009, and her debut single “Under the Sheets” received its first airplay on 30th September 2009. After receiving some heavy airplay she found herself touring the UK supporting Little Boots and scored an envious spot on “Later… with Jules Holland” in October which got a great reception (Dear Jules…a year of entries has yet to see me even win tickets to the show)! Quickly following the UK digital release of her debut single “Under the Sheets” on 15th November, Goulding then went onto win the Critic’s Choice Award at the 2010 Brit Awards… sheesh…(and breathe)!!!

2010 is not likely to be any slower for the Brit Award winner as she keeps touring around the UK and Ireland with the brilliant Passion Pit before embarking on her own UK tour. January is definitely starting on enviably good footing as she’s been named the top choice on the BBC’s hugely coveted list of ‘Sounds of 2010’ and is set to release her debut album ‘Lights’ on March 1st. Although there is no confirmed date for Goulding’s next single “Starry Eyed”, definitely keep your eyes peeled and ears to the ground for more info and news on her website www.elliegoulding.co.uk or Myspace www.myspace.com/elliegoulding for tour dates.

For those of you who just can’t wait to see this girl get her groove on, she is due to perform TONIGHT at the Brit Award Nominations Event which will be aired on ITV2 and hosted by Fearne Cotton.

Enjoy people!!!

We are looking for some enthusiastic teamers to come along and help out in the following cities to flyer outside venues and to collect names for the Red Bull Bedroom Jam mailing list:

* LONDON * NORWICH * MANCHESTER * LEEDS * GLASGOW * WOLVERHAMPTON * BLACKPOOL * MIDDLESBOROUGH * BOURNEMOUTH * COLCHESTER * SWINDON * CAMBRIDGE * SOUTHAMPTON * BRISTOL * CARDIFF * BIRMINGHAM * NEWCASTLE * EDINBURGH * BRIGHTON * NORTHAMPTON * NOTTINGHAM * PORTSMOUTH * PRESTON *

Red Bull Bedroom Jam’s (www.redbullbedroomjam.com) aim is to provide a live musical outlet for young bands and musicians, aged 19 years or younger.
This amazing competition gives unsigned bands a chance to perform a “bedroom gig” live to the world via the internet and, if successful, having an album’s worth of material recorded by a top producer in Red Bull’s state of the art London Studio, a trip around the UK’s festival stages and a support slot on a major tour in the UK!

Would be great if you could help out.. message me back and let me know
