The old boys are back in town...

So got some rather good news, hope you agree : )

Wolfmother are back in the country, only for a one off London show though. Witness the performance of tracks from their latest (2nd) album 'Cosmic Egg' at The Coronet (Elephant and Castle) on October 21st.

The Twang...

Although they formed way back in 2001, it wasn't until back in 2007 with the release of debut album Love It When I Feel Like This, with singles such as Wide Awake and Either Way, that the band finally hit the recognition they had been gathering throughout their home town of Birmingham.

Although they fell off the radar for a while, the Twang returned this year with easily their best material to date in the form of new album Jewellery Quarter, which no doubt means another sold out run of shows.

And finally The King Blues kick off this year's Autumn tour on 1st October.

If you haven't heard of them before he's what their label Island says of them: "Right from the get-go The King Blues’ music has defied convention. Unafraid to mix up dub bass lines, doo-wop a cappella songs, ska rhythms, Lonnie Donegan-styled skiffle, British folk and gritty poetry, theirs is a stripped-down, hot-wired one where ukuleles, acoustic guitars and melodicas feature heavily. It is punk music as it was intended – engaging, forward-thinking, all-encompassing."

NEW boys in town!

Ed's ones to watch...

Bombay Bicycle Club.

Bombay Bicycle Club release their astonishing debut album I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose (recorded by Jim Abbiss), a beautifully literate and ambitious debut. From the dizzying My Bloody Valentine/M83 swoops and morning-after ruefulness of the LP’s opening song to the open-tuned, Appalachian folk feel of the record’s closing track, the album thrums with subtle invention and quiet emotional intensity. Fans of Bloc Party, Broken Social Scene and Bon Iver - or any mildly sensitive soul with a fondness for ricocheting guitar chords will be utterly beguiled. Indie rock rarely gets to enjoy its innocence these days, but Bombay Bicycle Club know that’s exactly what makes it precious. Simply love them!

First caught them at Offset and I'm now officially hooked! Can't wait to see them again live very very soon!!

Goldhawks.

Have no idea where these guys have popped out from, but they must be good if they're supporting THE TEMPER TRAP (my new favourite band) on their 9 date UK tour. As well as holding their own weekly month long residency at the Ginglik in Sheppard's Bush, holding host to no other than Blood Red Shoes, the Maccabees and Maximo Park!
